Studio Lighting, and some shaky nerves.

Im not gonna lie, this was my first time using studio lighting.  I am still in the learning process, well aren't we all?? but this was a very tricky adventure for me.  Thanks to Jeff at Foley Photography (http://www.JeffFoley.com/) for going over my never ending questions, and Ciara Austin for being a great model, and probably not even knowing I was nervous.
After doing Ciara's hair and makeup she shot for most of our timeframe together with Jeff, where I helped to set up lights, hold reflectors, make sure things ran smoothly, and then it was time for me to shoot.
I was super nervous, and wasn't loaded with a ton of ideas, which was fine, but turns out I had to pick one of the hardest poses to light:  A person on the ground.  Go me!!  It seems I always start with the hardest thing to do.

I had to play around with borders just to mix it up, enjoy!!

New Work!!

Some of my latest adventures in photography!!

This is the birth announcement for my nephew Maks.  He is super cute, and makes some of the funniest faces!!

He was terrified of being on the counter.  I think he read my sister's mind because she was even more terrified of him being up there.  No babies were harmed in the making of this photo.

Sisters

I was recently going through my old photos and came across a few of one of my most FAVORITE people.. My sister!!  I'm really excited for her because she is having a baby in September (I hope it's on the 2nd so I can have a birthday buddy)








This is a photo we took last summer and I just recently found it (Go me!!)  I edited it a little and then decided to write a blog :D


I know everyone says they have the best sister ever, but I know that I have the best sister for me.  She is silly and smart, and super pretty and now she's pregnant!!  Im really excited for you Jess, and I cant wait to meet the little one!!  

I wanted to take a few shots of her before the baby came out, we're planning a full maternity session soon, but these were from a quick session we had recently.

Melanie and Kyle's February Wedding!!

This was my first official wedding that I actually shot by myself, which was exciting and made me really nervous at the same time.  Melanie is my cousin and I had asked her if I could shoot her wedding to add to my portfolio.  It would give me a bit of experience and definitely help me determine if I would eventually want to shoot weddings alone.
  Right now I am an assistant to Jeff Foley of Foley Photography.   You can check out his awesome work here:  www.jefffoleyblog.com This has been extremely helpful because I have learned SO much through working with him, from where lights should be set up, to where to stand with a flash on a lightstand so the people he's shooting are well illuminated.


Melanie and Kyle did a really fun engagement session in Utica where there is an awesome wall to shoot by and a really cool fountain.  Although it was kind of chilly they did awesome.

Onto the wedding!!

This shot was the bottom of her dress, it was so pretty and I just L<3VE detail shots!!

 Her shoes, and a borrowed necklace from her grandma Shirley.  She got ready at the courthouse and used the judge's office.
(and no I did not get silly and put on the judge's robes :P)

The Holidays are HERE!!

I did a session with Holly and her awesome son Caiden for the holidays.

Caiden is such a sweetie, he is super polite, and offered me some of his candy cane.

Then he showed me how his Zhu pet worked.

I recently had a day to play and it was super nice out so I got a hold of my cousin Jackie, and we decided to do some fashion-ey work!!

This is one of my faves, we went to a park in Menands, and it was getting sooo dark I didn't think it would come out!!

We found some stick and had to do one of our classic shots: The Fake Cigarette LOL
